Aeschynomene (American Joint Vetch), Coated - 50 lb
Aeschynomene is a warm season legume also know as "Joint-Vetch" or Deer-Vetch". Aeschynomeme is a high protein ingredient for spring, summer, and fall food plots for wildlife. The plants can reach between 3 and 6 feet in height at maturity. Aeschynomene grows much better in low bottom areas where the moisture is commonly found. Aeschynomene is considered one of the easiest to establish and highest protein ingredients for all wildlife food plots for leaf production. It out-yield most other turnip varieties available. Aeschynomeme Americana, or Common Aeschynomeme, is a true annual that flowers and produces seed in the early fall. Plants usually die after seed has matured, but the stand can be managed to reseed and maintain itself in good production for several years after first establishment. Aeschynomene grows best in moist, fertile soils. It is more tolerant of extremely wet conditions than of drought. Aeschynomeme is usually planted in June when the summer rains start. It has been planted successfully in April and May when spring rainfall has been above normal. Planting Rate: 20 lbs. per acre or 1/2 lb. per 1,000 sq. ft. Planting Depth: 1/4".
